Bernhard Elsner works as a professor of neurological rehabilitation at the University of Applied Sciences Jena, Germany. He is also Privatdozent (‘associate professor’) for Public Health and supervisor of PhD students at the Faculty of Medicine at Technische Universität Dresden, Germany. Bernhard is educated as a physiotherapist and public health professional.
He works for three Cochrane Collaboration Groups and has published more than ten Cochrane publications (full reviews, updates and protocols). His research relates to evidence-based stroke rehabilitation, Parkinson’s disease, spinal cord, critical illness polyneuropathy and myopathy and other neurological diseases.
He is secretary of the German Society of Physiotherapy Science (DGPTW, www.dgptw.org) and coopted member of the executive board of the German Society of Neurorehabilitation (DGNKN, www.dgnkn.de.
