Zotero is a free reference management program that runs platform-independently on Microsoft Windows, Linux, Mac OS and other operating systems. You can use Zotero to collect, manage, cite and share scientific sources.

Please note: The user interface is only available in English.

Download & Installation

The various versions of Zotero can be downloaded free of charge from the Zotero website and then installed.

To conveniently record literature directly from the browser you need the Zotero Connector, which is also available on the Zotero download page.

Zotero provides an app for iPads which is suitable for downloading / reading and annotating PDF documents. Annotations are synchronized and new entries can also be created. A free account on zotero.org is required for synchronization.
