In times when studying means not having to switch between lecture hall and library all week, Ernst Abbe University Jena offers a stable infrastructure for your studies.

To enable students to teach and learn from anywhere, the university increasingly relies on the use of online tools and virtualizes various lectures, but also office hours or events.

Studying digitally at EAH Jena means:

  • Follow lectures comfortably online but also independent of time
  • Consultation hours with your lecturer, who may be doing research in South America at the moment
  • study for exams with recorded videos
  • digital group work, dial-in to events and exam booking

The university relies primarily on an open source solution and tries to share content via very few channels and to interact with students via these. The software and platform used are constantly being developed and adapted.

For example, online lectures are conducted almost exclusively using the web conferencing system "BigBlueButton" (BBB). From the comfort of your own home, you can dial into the lecture and interact with the lecturer. This works without download.

In order to participate in these courses or to view material made available online, the EAH Jena uses the platforms "Moodle" and StudIP, in which the web conference system is integrated. This way you can interact with other students and get all the information about your lectures and events.

The Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule Jena allows you flexible access to knowledge and maximum freedom in learning.
