BEFORE enrolment, the conclusion of a training contract with a cooperating hospital of the Ernst Abbe University of Applied Sciences Jena is REQUIRED. The application is made at the corresponding hospital, taking into account the application deadlines and the application documents to be submitted.

An extended certificate of good conduct and a medical certificate of professional aptitude are generally required for the conclusion of the training contract.

The following requirements apply to applications for the open-admission course of study in Midwifery at the University of Applied Sciences Jena:

  • Valid higher education entrance qualification (HZB) proven by general higher education entrance qualification, subject-specific higher education entrance qualification or advanced technical college entrance qualification.

  • If you have successfully completed vocational training in accordance with the requirements of the German Midwifery Act (HebG §10) (e.g. health and nursing officer, health and paediatric nurse, nursing specialist, nurse) AND have 3 years of professional experience, you can study on a probationary basis.
