Highly qualified specialists are needed not only in specialist optical shops, but also in medicine and the optical industry to meet the complex requirements through interdisciplinary work. With the Bachelor of Science you acquire an internationally recognised degree and thus secure good opportunities on the global job market.

After completing their studies, graduates of the Bachelor of Optometry will be able to recognise, analyse and adequately treat not only refractive errors but also visual disorders at a scientific level. The fields of application are accordingly:

• specialised optician shops/institutes
• ophthalmological institutions, e.g. ophthalmological practices and eye clinics
• Institutions for the rehabilitation of the visually impaired
• Optical industry
• Research institutes
