Mechanical Engineering
Master of Engineering
The Master's programme in Mechanical Engineering lasts three semesters, with the first two semesters being completed at the university. Building on the previous knowledge acquired in a successfully completed Bachelor's or Diploma degree programme, the Master's degree programme in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Applied Sciences pursues the goal of broadening and deepening specialist and methodological knowledge and practical skills. The main focus of the Master's degree programme is, among other things, the increased penetration of numerical problems, the treatment of structural, thermal and flow processes as well as the intensive examination of special topics in construction and production technology. The technical education is supplemented with the teaching of decisive non-technical key qualifications, such as foreign languages, rhetoric and presentation techniques, which are more than ever of high professional relevance. From a wide range of compulsory elective modules, you can also choose further courses according to your own inclinations and career ideas, which allow you to deepen your studies in individual areas. This includes elective modules such as multi-body simulation, special areas of power machines, foreign languages, etc. The increasingly important social competence, e.g. the ability to work in a team, is trained in various project work. The programme ends with the Master's thesis, which is usually written in an industrial company, and a colloquium.
Students enrol in the summer and winter semesters.
