Physiotherapy (B.Sc.)

The primary qualifying study programme combines a professional qualification in physiotherapy with a first academic degree.

Studies and practical training are closely interlinked in terms of organisation and content. The programme consists of two study sections. Upon successful completion, you will acquire 210 ECTS points, the permission to use the professional title "Physiotherapist" and the academic degree "Bachelor of Science".

Study modules on fields of activity typical for the profession of physiotherapy form central elements of the curriculum and indicate the focus of individual semesters:

  • Musculoskeletal system
  • Neuromuscular system and mental health
  • Early life phase
  • Internal organ systems
  • Late life phase and chronic diseases
  • Physiotherapeutic autonomy of action

The fields of action typical of the profession thus form the central study strand, which is supplemented by basic modules and scientific teaching modules, some of which are studied jointly with other study programmes.

According to the currently valid training and examination regulations for physiotherapists (PhysTh-APrV), practical assignments of at least 1,600 hours must be completed during the physiotherapy studies. At the EAH Jena, a network of established medical institutions in and around Jena is available to you for this purpose, which means that you do not have to organise the internships independently and can still choose freely between them.

Our study programme is accredited by the Accreditation Agency for Health and Social Services (AHPGS) until 30 September 2026.
