General information about the Thoska (Thuringian university and student union card)

Thoska is an abbreviation and stands for Thuringian University and Student Union Card.

Who gets the thoska?

  • Students of the Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule Jena
  • Staff of the Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule Jena
  • Guests of the Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule Jena

Service

  • Note on the request for reimbursement: SEPA payment transactions - only fully completed requests can be processed.
  • Requests for reimbursement will now only be sent by email to your EAH email address. Your EAH mailbox can be found athttp://owa.stud.eah-jena.de/.
  • Please send requests for sending study certificates to the Thoska office - thoska(at)eah-jena.de, stating the matriculation number.

FAQ

Students:

Students receive their thoska as a student ID after successful enrollment. The thoska is issued during the introductory events. Receipt of the Thoska must be acknowledged. Students must independently update the validity of their Thoska each semester at the self-service terminal. Once you have received your Thoska, it will accompany you throughout your entire period of study at Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule Jena. On the lower part of the card there is a rewritable area. After your re-registration, you can have this area rewritten with the current end of validity and study program data when using the self-service terminals (validation).

Workforce:

As part of the workforce, you may use the Thoska application available in the download area. A high-contrast passport photo (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm) is required for processing.

Guests:

Guests of the Ernst Abbe University of Jena can use the Thoska application available in the download area A high-contrast passport photo (4.5 cm x 3.5 cm) is required for processing the personalized Thoska. The cards are issued at the Thoska office, receipt of the Thoska must be acknowledged.

Students:

For students:
According to the senate resolution of 27.03.2007, the thoska is issued for a fee of 15,00 €. The thoska is thus the property of the student.

For staff:
The fee for a staff thoska is €5.00, making it your property. As part of the staff participating in the time recording system or employed on a temporary basis, you may obtain the thoska upon application to the Registrar for a deposit of €20.00. The deposit will be refunded upon return of the thoska.

For guests:
The fee for a personalized guest card is €10.00, which makes it the property of the guest. Unpersonalized guest cards are issued against a deposit of 20,00 €. The deposit will be refunded upon return of the non-personalized thoska.

Duplicate.
In case of loss or damage due to improper use, a duplicate card will be made upon request. The administrative fee for issuing a duplicate is €10.00 according to the fee schedule.

If you have lost your card, have it blocked immediately. Ernst-Abbe-Hochschule Jena assumes no liability for the misuse of lost cards.

Inform us immediately about the loss of the thoska. For the blocking of the chip card, please give us your first and last name, matriculation or personnel number.

When your message reaches us, we will block your Thoska as soon as possible to prevent misuse. The Thoska office will inform the Studierendenwerk Thüringen and the library. The Thoska will be blocked in the access system.

The credit on the wallet of your card is to be regarded as the contents of a physical wallet. Unfortunately, if the thoska is lost, the money is also gone.

A replacement card will be issued upon request. The administrative fee for issuing a duplicate is 10,00 €.

For security reasons, we can only send cards that have been recovered if you mention your

The unblocking at the Studierendenwerk Thüringen, the library and in the access system is done by the Thoska office. Afterwards your card will work as usual.
